My boys love donuts and are always asking me to buy them at the store. I usually cave and buy them one, so when I came across a recipe for home made cake donuts I thought I should give it a try. I went to a couple of stores and couldn't find any donut pans. I eventually ended up at the restaurant supply store and they had them both regular size and mini, but I didn't like the price, $16.50 and $14.50. Right next to the supply store is a thrift store so I decide to check over there and see what they had and wouldn't you know they had 2 mini donut pans for $1.50 each! So on Friday we tried out 2 different recipes for cake donuts. We didn't really like the first one. It had nutmeg and cinnamon in it and a lot of sugar. The second recipe was more like what you would get at the store and we all loved it. Between the boys, Tim, and my step dad they ate all 24 of them right out of the oven! So I am excited to have a recipe that I can make that is low in sugar (actual it uses dark brown sugar), isn't fried, has no preservatives and the boys love!!

Saturday morning I had a planning meeting for our district LWML convention. We
(Debbie and I) spent 4 hours with a wonderful group of ladies getting all the details in order. It is really coming along and I am excited!!

We had a really nice day today. Church, lunch with Scott and Debbie, swimming with the boys at the community center in Mandan, and a couple of hours outside scraping ice from the driveway and loaded baked potatoes for dinner (Layne always has the best ideas for dinner!).

I have a busy week this week with school work, 2 test, 1 final exam (I have one online class that is only 8 weeks, so it will be done this week) and 2 big projects to work on.

We had Laynes Parent/Teacher conference today. He got a glowing report!! His best subject is math and his reading has improved. His biggest area of concern is his hand writing. Most of the things he writes are illegible. His cursive writing is better, but still very hard to read. His teacher doesn't quite know what to do to help him so she is going to consult the occupational therapist.

Thank God Logan did not have to have surgery!! The ENT Dr. was able to get the object out of his nose with out having to put him out and dig through his nose! Thank God for fancy smancy doctors tools!! Now I bet you are wondering what it was that caused all this trouble? Well it was a little crafty pom pom thingy. This is what I get for trying to encourage my children's creative side!!!!! I am just so thankful that it all turned out well, but I am exhausted!!

Had a great weekend!! Put the bunk beds up in the boy's room. They love it! They have so much room now and the bottom bunk easily turns in to a "fort". Layne has been having fun sleeping on the top bunk. Because the walls are slanted the bed pushes all the way to the wall and leaves a really cool nook. Scott and Debbie had a bean bag chair and foot stool that they let us have, I think it will make a great reading place for the boys.

Tim and I took Logan to the dr. tonight. We thought he had something stuck in his nose. The dr looked in his nose for quite a while and all he saw was that his nose was extremely swollen. So he sent us down for x-rays. Logan did amazing during the x-rays. Laid perfectly still and did just what the tech said. After the x-ray we went back and saw the dr. He didn't see anything on the x-ray so he brought another dr. in to look. They both thought that he had something up there, but they couldn't see it around the swelling. So tomorrow we get to go to the Ear, Nose, and Throat dr. Logan did so well at the dr. office that on the way home we took him to the grocery store and let him pick out some Popsicles.

I spent all day doing taxes and home work. I want to put the computer away!

Our daycare ladies mother passed away on Saturday and she is taking tomorrow off, so the boys get to go to grandma Pam's. But that means we have to get up early and leave the house by 7:15. Yucky!!

We had a great weekend at the lake. The twins did not want to go home, I had to promise Logan that we would spend a week at the lake this summer. The roads were really crappy on the way home and the snow was blowing across the road so bad that it made me sick and I had to have Tim drive.

Busy week at school this week, but at least it is a short one! We have a game night at church on Friday night, I think we will take the new game I got for Tim,"The Game of Things". We played it at the lake and it was fun!

When I went to pick the boys up from daycare today Brenden was crying. Dee Dee said he had been crying ever since he had sneezed. That immediately made me think ear infection, so I took Brenden to the doctor this afternoon. He has an ear infection and a sinus infection. The doctor said both ears were bad. Once again I feel bad for not going with my gut and taking him on Monday.

I don't want to look at the computer or a school book anymore today. I think I spent about 7 hours doing homework and I still have one more assignment to do tonight:( I also did my other favorite thing today...laundry. All this in the name of family love. We are headed to Bemidji on Friday and I don't want to do any homework this weekend. I want to play in the snow with my kids and husband and play lots of games!! Is is time for bed yet?

We had a great weekend. Layne lost his second tooth on Friday at school. He purposely waited until he got to school to pull it out so he could put his name on the chart. So cute! Saturday I took the boys over to Scott an Debbie's in the morning and we made cookies. The boys had a great time and helped a lot. In the afternoon Scott took Layne with him and went to help a lady from church move into assisted living and Debbie came over to our house and help me make curtains for the kitchen. It was nice to get that finishing touch done! Last night we went to Derek and Maria's to watch the Super Bowl. The kids had a great time with all the other kids that were there and we had some really great food! Both the boys have really nasty colds. Their noses are running so bad and they are red and cracking from wiping them so much. Logan's face is so dry so I tried to put some lotion on it before he went to bed and he started crying because it stung. I felt so bad! I hope they get better before this weekend!

Logan has a rash all over his body. I am not sure what is it, but I think it might be an allergic reaction to the new laundry soap I am using. It doesn't seem to itch or bother him. I think that he may be getting sick, I am not sure if the two are connected. Brenden sounds like he swallowed a frog. His voice started sounding funny at about 5:30 and just got worse before I put them to bed. I hope my boys don't get sick!!

Super busy week this week, I have 4 test, we had MOPS this morning, my mom had surgery yesterday, Ta Kwon Do Tuesday and Thursday, and I am trying to get our taxes done by this weekend!

The boys are doing great with their big boy underpants, only a couple of accidents since Friday. I don't even has to ask Logan any more he just goes on his own. Yeah big boys!!
