Layne did great at his tournament. He got 4th place in both sparring, and forms. He got 3rd place in the power challenge, a front kick, side kick and a reverse punch into a bag that records how hard it is kicked. It was judge by age groups and there was about 12 or so 7 year olds, so he did really well. He can't wait for the next one!

Day three of big boy underpants:

• Both boys woke up and went potty right away
• Both boys stayed dry through their nap
• Logan had one small accident in the afternoon
• Brenden pooped on the potty
• 12 gummy candies were given out for peeing in the potty

Logan wore "big boy" underwear all day today!! I sat the boys down a couple of days ago and had "the talk" with them. You know the one about being big boys now and how I wasn't buying anymore diapers because they just need to go in the potty. Well Logan seems to be abiding nicely. He even managed to stay dry for his nap! Brenden did well all day too. Had one small accident this morning, no big deal. He too went for a nap and didn't want to put on training pants on either and managed to stay dry during his nap, but when we went to a friends house this afternoon for a play date he pooped in his underwear. I then put a pull up on him and by the next time I took him potty he had already wet it. But all in all it was a good day. I think I might up skip the training pants all together because they both seem to do better when they are wearing underwear.

PS The boys are going to hate me for the post in a couple of years!

Yucky weather today! We were like the only place in the state that had school today, it was so yucky out that I drove Layne the block and a half to school and then went and got him. Layne's Tae Kwon Do tournament that was supposed to be on Saturday got postponed to this Saturday because of the weather. Layne was pretty disappointed so Scott and Debbie took him to their house for the afternoon and they built a snowman. Brenden isn't feeling good. We were at a potluck at church yesterday and he was falling asleep in his food. When we got him home he had a fever of 102. He woke up feeling good this morning, but has had a low grade fever and sore throat all day. I hope he feels better soon!

My husband is so funny! He bought a new fire extinguisher today. It is supposed to say "cooking is the leading cause of home fires", but Tim being the smart alec he is crossed it out and wrote, "Boiling water is the leading cause of Larson home fires". Isn't he funny!?!

Tim and Layne have undertaken a new project. Layne wanted to build a "box" to put all his stuff that he doesn't want his brothers getting into. So Tim, being the the man that he is, turn what could have been a small project into a huge one. Now they are building a treasure chest, complete with curved panel top, hidden hinges, and a lock so his brothers can't get in, out of knotty pine. I think it is going to be big enough that Layne can sleep in it! So my "men" are out in the garage right now working on their project. Layne is so lucky to have a handy dad and I know that he will treasure these memories forever! I will post a picture when it is done.

We had a fun day today. Since there was not school my MOPS friends and I decided to plan a play date for today. They all came over to our house and we played out on the ice rink for an hour. Then we came in and HAD TO have hot chocolate and a snack. The kids were playing so nice together that they all stayed until 1 o'clock.

Well the first week of classes went well. I feel a little overwhelmed by my 3 online classes, but I think once I get in to the swing of things it will get better. One of the classes is only and 8 week course, so that will help.

Layne has a Tae Kwon Do tournament this weekend. He is very excited to compete for the first time. I hope he does well!

Wow it been awhile since I last posted! Life has been crazy, but I can't seem to remember what we have done in this last week! We did take the whole family to a Bobcats hockey game on Saturday. Layne got a free ticket from school and Scott won 4 at work. The twins were free so we invited my mom and Joe to come with us. The twins had a great time, although Brenden was terrified of the mascot. He was shrieking and crying and wanted to go home when the mascot came over and tried to give him 5. He did calm down and had a good time.

I start my next semester on Wednesday. I am looking forward to getting back into a routine! I am not looking forward to trampling around in the snow and getting up and out the door my 7:30 a.m.

Layne has a Tae Kwon Do tournament next weekend. His first one and he is pretty excited. He is collecting donations for the tournament that will go towards the academy's outreach program and the Special Olympics of North Dakota so if anyone wants to send a donation feel free!

Layne lost his first tooth!!

What a great long weekend. We really had fun at our friends house. We did not plan on staying very late but the boys were being so good and Tim and I were having so much fun playing Taboo, that we ended up staying until after midnight! Needless to say we spent Friday recovering from such a late night. Saturday the boys and I did some baking and cleaning. I started to have an upset stomach last night and haven't felt good since. I did manage to muster up enough strength to take down the Christmas decorations. The boys said the house looks empty now!
