Tim is going paddelfish snagging this weekend, so the boys and I are heading to the lake to see grandma, grandpa, and Jody. I hope the boys have good weather so they can fish. There have been many conflicting reports on what the weather is going to do.

We meet with Layne's doctor on Thursday. He was diagnosis with ADHD. We went over all of our options fro treatment and came to the conclusion that meds were our best option right now. We had some trouble getting him to take it over the weekend, but today we had great success with sticking it in his mouth right before he swallowed a piece of donut. We are really hoping that the meds will help Layne to focus better in school.

The boys had a great time at the farm. They played outside the whole time. Tim cut down a bunch of trees and helped grandma with a bunch of other little odds and ends.

Tim is going paddle fish snagging this weekend with our neighbor from across the street. He is super excited. He has wanted to go for quite some time! Since Tim is going to be gone I decide that the boys and i should go see grandma and grandpa Larson. Talk about us going in 2 different directions!

I only have 5 days of class left and then 3 finals to take. I can't believe how fast this year has gone. I am taking 3 summer school classes though so I only get a short break.

I went and met with my advisor from Dickinson State University today. I wanted to make sure that I was taking all the right classes and doing what I was supposed to be doing. When she started to look at everything I did this year and at my transcript from my other college she decided that I need to transfer to Dickinson State and start working on my 4 year degree!! Dickinson State will accept some of my credits from Aaker's College were Bismarck State would not so it will put me a semester or two ahead depending on what transfers. So I dropped all my classes for next fall at BSC and will be enrolled full time at Dickinson State!! I still have some classes that I need to take from BSC so technically I will be what they call a collaborative student, taking classes from the college and the university. I am also still going to take summer school through BSC. But what I am most excited about is that I get to take Introduction to Education. In this class I get to have 30 hours of in the classroom experience! So I will get to "try out" teaching!! I also had to pick a minor, Career and Technology, I am not exactly sure what that all entails but I know it has to do with some kind of technology which will fit right in with my major!

Tomorrow is Layne's appointment. I am anxious and nervous. Layne is too. I am praying for him tonight. It is hard to watch him worry about what is going to happen.

Today was a much better day. The boys still fought all day but Tim was working in the garage so when it got bad I sent them outside!!

Tim and I met with Layne's school counselor this morning to go over the survey that Tim and I, his teacher, and his writing club teacher did on his behavior. It was interesting to see that when our answers were graphed out that they all had the same pattern. In the survey the have 9 questions that are mixed in and marked as "red flags". Tim and I mark 7 out of 9 and Mrs. Nestoss also marked 7 out of 9. We will take the survey results with us when we go to see the doctor on Thursday.

Today was most defiantly Monday! We couldn't get out of the house this morning, the boys cried all the way to Dee Dee's house, fought all day long, wouldn't take a nap, and wouldn't go to sleep tonight!!!!!! Here's to Tuesday!!

The musical was great. Scott and Debbie were able to go with us so we took the twins too. Carnival was fun. Not as many people this year as last so the boys got to play on all the games and inflatable toys!

The birthday party was really fun. We saw 3 people that we hadn't seen since Tim and I were dating. It was nice to catch up with them. The kids had a great time playing in the "forest" (tree row) with the other kids and there were a lot of other kids!

It was a nice day out today so we were able to get the front yard cleaned up. We were the last ones on the block to get to it so I am glad it is done! We borrowed Scott and Debbie's ice cream maker and made some chocolate and vanilla ice cream. The twins couldn't believe that you could make ice cream out of cream and milk! They sat on the counter and watched the machine go round and round! We were eating some after dinner and talking about some different flavors we could try and Logan had all kinds of good ideas, like marshmallow and chocolate, strawberries and peanut butter and my favorite, "butt scotch".

Nothing much new around here can you believe it!

Mom and Joe took Layne and my nephew to "Walking With The Dinosaurs" last night. They both really liked it, although no one could really tell me what it was all about, and even talked them into taking them to McDonald's afterward. Needless to say it was very late for a school night by the time they got to bed.

We are going to have a busy weekend. I am going to take Layne to a musical that Martin Luther School is doing tomorrow night, a carnival Saturday afternoon, then a birthday party for one of Tim's friends Saturday night. Good thing I already have my homework done for the week!

I did end up getting strep. I didn't mess around, I went to the doctor at 8:30 Friday morning. Thank God for antibiotics! It was a very uneventful weekend. Layne had his first sleepover at a friends house on Friday night. He stayed up way to late and is super tried now!

Tim got home super late last night and I was moving a little slow this morning, so when I came downstairs to find the boys watching TV I was happy that they were such good boys! Then I went to sit down in my spot and found the last bit of an ice cream bar melting in my spot. I cleaned it up and went back to bed. The kids followed and when Tim told him he couldn't have an ice cream bar without asking he said "I did ask". Tim said "who did you ask". Brenden said "I asked myself". Well then I guess we were told!

I am SICK!!!!!!

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

Eight years ago today I was not doing any of the following:

1. Wiping snot from 3 noses.
2. Preventing 3 boys from killing each other.
3. Running errands for my husband with twins who are trying to push my last button.
4. Entertaining 2 extremely tried boys while the 3rd practices Ta Kwon Do in a new place at later time.
5. Wondering if I would get to see my husband on our anniversary.

No, eight years ago today I married my best friend and if someone would have told me that I would be doing any of the above eight years later I would have told them they were crazy!

Here's to the hope that I survive for many more!! Love you Tim!

What a CRAZY weekend. Spent all day Friday at the hospital with my sister. At first we thought she was in labor, but after a long day and a ton of pain meds they decided it was kidney stones. They let her go, and I talked her into spending the night here and was really glad I did. The pain came back at about 3:45 in the morning, but Katie didn't wake me up until about 6:45. We took her to the hospital and they decided that they needed to deliver her. So my nephew Gabriel Ray was born at 1:41. He was 6 lbs 14 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. Katie's stone finally passed today and they let her go home. I took the boys up to see him today and they just loved him. Layne even got to hold him!

We had Tim's family over for dinner on Sunday night. Most of what we ate was a new recipe. I thought since everyone was having a traditional meal some where else we should do something fun. We had smoked turkey (Tim was so excited to try out the smoker he got for his birthday), Chantilly potatoes, and roasted asparagus. We also had cooked carrots and key lime cake. It was great! After dinner the boys went on an Easter egg hunt. They boys had a great time playing with Mandy and Ryan and were sad to see them go.

Tim is still sick. I took him to the doctor this morning and he has strep. I am praying that none of us get it!! So since Tim was sick I had to go to the meeting for Layne alone. The meeting went well, they all stressed how smart Layne is and how nice he is, but the bottom line is that he has ADHD. We have to take him to his pediatrician to get the official diagnosis, but this does not come as a surprise to me. Tim and I have always thought he was a little out of sync, but I didn't realize how much it was affecting his life, particularly school work. Most students his age are on task 80% of the time, Layne is on task 20-25% of the time. I am curious to see what the doctor has to say about treatment.

The boys and I went to Scott and Debbie's to celebrate Scott's birthday. He love the gift that Debbie, Mandy, Ryan, De, Lloyd, Tim and I went together to get. The boys had to have him get it out so they could see how it worked!

Rained all day today. Supposed to turn to snow tonight. I thought that it was spring!!
