I have spent the last couple of nights recovering from the weekend, so I have been too tried to post! They boys loved the circus, Brenden's favorite part was the jugglers. Logan's was the motorcycles, and Layne's was the silly clown. The MOPS carnival was really fun and the boys got some fun little toys at the Easter egg hunt at church. The Living Last Super was good, the twins were perfect angels. Layne sat up in the front row with Michelle (pastor's wife) so he could "help" her.

Layne was assessed on Tuesday for behavior issues. We will meat with his teacher and school counselor tomorrow at 1:30 to go over the results. I am so curious to hear what they found out!

I meet with my school adviser today to talk about my summer school options and to figure out what I need for next year. I was happy to find out that I could apply for a grant for the summer semester. My adviser was quite confident that I would get it and advised me to sign up for the classes I wanted. I decided to take one class in June and two classes in July. This will really help to cut down the number of classes I need to take during the year and it is especially great since I have some harder classes to take. Now I need to go take to the university that I am transferring to to make sure that I am taking the classes that they require for me to transfer.

Tim is sick. He has a fever and just really doesn't feel good. He hasn't even gotten out of bed today.
These are a couple of pictures of the boys in their "tea party" attire.

To tried to post anything about our weekend, I will have to do it tomorrow!

Thursday, March 25, 2010

We had a nice family birthday breakfast with Tim this morning and it's a good thing we did because that is all we saw of him all day.

Mom and Joe are taking all of their grandkids, my sister, and I to the circus tomorrow. Brenden didn't want to go and he wouldn't tell me why. I finally got him to tell me that he didn't want to see the clowns. Last year the clowns were very noisy, the car they rode in on backfired several times and make a bunch of other noises that Brenden didn't like. So I told him that we would bring ear plugs and he didn't have to watch them. He got all excited and said he was ready to go! So cute!!

Layne's teacher called today. His regular teacher and his reading teacher have been visiting about Layne progress in his reading and writing and they are concerned. She asked me if it would be ok to have the school counselor sit in the room and asses him. They want to have her look to see if she can figure out why he is so destructed. I was actually quite happy to hear that she wanted to do this because I have felt for a long time that some piece of the puzzle is missing. I didn't think to ask her just what they would be looking for but I guess I will find out. They will do the assessment on Tuesday.

I found out today that I can't take any summer school classes because I don't have any financial aid. Since I just used grants this semester there is no money for me to take summer classes. I am bummed because I had my class schedule all figured out for next year and I didn't feel totally stressed out by it. Now I will have to add a class to each semester if I want to stay on track.

This is what Logan was doing while he was supposed to be taking a nap. Isn't it a beautiful butterfly? Logan sure thought so!

We found out today that Laynes Tae Kwon Do school is moving to the YMCA. I think this is great, it is close enough that we can walk! I registered for 2 online summer classes, Keyboarding and my enrichment class, Relationships and Self-Esteem.

We got the bills for Logan's "ball up the nose" trick and it is going to cost us more than $1,000!!! I hope that was the last time any of the kids decide to do something like that!!

We celebrated Tim's birthday with his parents tonight. Tim grilled some awesome chicken and I made a key lime cake for dessert and it was soooooo good!

It was hard to get back in the swing of things this morning. We got spoiled with the sleeping in! With the busy week I have outside of school I am so thankful that this should be a relatively easy week for homework!

I have grass in my front yard! I had forgotten it was there since it has been covered in snow for 6 months. We only have a couple of big piles left in the yard.

Layne is a yellow belt! He passed his test with only a few minor problems and he might not have had any but testing went until 9:30, so he got super tried near the end. He went for an extra class before testing too so he was working on Tae Kwon Do for 4 hours. Tim and I couldn't be more proud of him and we love watching him!

It was a such a beautiful weekend, yesterday Tim took the kids to the park while I was at a young women's retreat and today we were able to take a walk!! I love this time of year!!

It is going to be a super busy week. I have to go back to school, we are going to celebrate Tim's birthday tomorrow, Tae Kwon Do 2 days, Living Last Supper dress rehearsal and 2 performances, Circus, MOPS carnival, Easter egg hunt at church, and a birthday party for a friend of the boys. Whew! My sister and nephew are going to come up on Friday to go to the circus with us too. Mom and Joe wanted to take all their grandkids to the circus, so it should be really fun! They are going to spend the night and go to the carnival and Easter egg hunt too!

Layne gets to test for his yellow belt tomorrow. He is so excited. I will be sure to post pics!

I took Layne to the dr. today to find out what the thing on his foot and ankle is. It is a granuloma annulare and this website gives a great description of what it is: http://http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/granuloma-annulare/DS00793

So we will treat it with a steroid cream for 3 weeks take a week off and then continue on and off for 3 months. The dr doesn't want to see him again in September to make sure the cream is working and to make sure he doesn't get any more.

Ugg, we have water in the basement. Tim went down to his "room" this morning to get something and he came back with sopping wet feet. So tonight we cleaned out Tim's room and realized that water must have been down there for a while because it really smelt moldy and musty. We discovered that it is coming in from a crack in the foundation and since it is a cinder block foundation there is nothing we can do about it until summer. Oh the joys of an old house!

Sunday, March 14, 2010

I was sick all last week so I was not happy when I started to feel better on Thursday and then promptly lost my voice. We had the LWML board of directors meeting this weekend and I was supposed to do all the talking. Well that didn't happen! I was able to at least get out a few comments and a couple of ideas! The meeting went really well though and I can't believe that the convention will be here in 3 months!

Layne's hamster Ferb went to meet his maker on Friday night. I came home from the meeting to find and empty cage. I was up before Tim on Saturday morning and got to have the pleasure of telling Layne and Brenden what happened. Layne felt really bad, he thought it was his fault because he hadn't feed him, or changed his water. After I talked to him and assured him it was not his fault, he asked if he could get another pet!

We have had such a busy weekend, my meeting Friday and Saturday, dinner with Scott and Debbie Saturday night, church this morning, our neighbors hockey game this afternoon, Tim's play practice this afternoon, my board of education meeting tonight. It is a good thing I am on spring break all week and can finally get some things done around the house!

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

I got my grade back fro my 8 week class a 99%. Yeah!! I hope I can keep up my straight A's through the end of the semester!!

The twins had a rough morning. They were fighting left and right. It is days like today that I think we all long for spring!!

Speaking of spring, it rained all day today and it is supposed to turn into snow overnight. I think I better leave a few minutes earlier in the morning!

Monday, March 8, 2010

This week is going to be a much better week, that is as long as I don't get to sick. I have the start of a cold and am feeling pretty crappy right now, but I am hoping a good night sleep will make me feel better. My 8 week class is over, so now I am down to 4 classes. My friend Maria was over this afternoon with her daughter Serenity. She is in school too and we were talking about our schedules for next year since we have to register at the end of the month. Next year is going to be overwhelming. I have to take an english, a science, a math, and 3 electives each semester to get everything I need to graduate and go on to Dickinson State University. I am really considering take a couple of summer school classes so that I won't have such a heavy load, if I don't I will end up with 19 credits both semesters.

The boys had a good time at Dee Dee's house today, but they missed their friend Drayton. Drayton was airlift to the children hospital in the cities today after they found a mass on his stomach at the hospital here yesterday. He is such a happy little boy and is taking it all like a champ! Drayton is Maria and Derek's nephew. So please keep this little guy and his family in your prayers.
