The concert was wonderful!! Tangled Blue was great as usual and Lost and Found was so funny! Layne sang along and danced with every Tangled Blue song and then he disappeared with a friend. I really enjoyed getting to spend time with Layne tonight doing something we both love!

My Layne is just a wonderful kid. He always has a spelling test on Mondays and he was excited this morning because he really knew this weeks words and was sure he would get a 100% (I promised him a treat any time he gets 100%). So when he got home from school he really wanted me to look at his test right away. He missed one letter in one word, kised, instead of kissed. This was the one word he had trouble with all week, he always missed the second "s". He was so disappointed in himself he started to cry. I told him I was very proud of him and Miss Bartel had written a note that his handwriting and spelling were so great!! So I told him I would get him a "great effort" treat. So tomorrow when I go to get diapers I will pick something up from the dollar isle at Target.

Tomorrow night Layne and I have a date. Lost and Found and Tangled Blue, 2 christian bands, are having a concert at a local church. Layne has love Tangled Blue since he first heard them at our church 2 years ago. Tim and Layne have a date on Friday night. Layne got a free ticket to a Bobcats hockey game when the team visited his gym class.

Layne has been a little sad lately. He has been down on himself and not wanting to got to school, so on Friday Debbie came over and played with the twins while I took Layne to school and went to Wal-mart. When I dropped Layne off I decide to go in and talk to Miss Bartel and see if anything was going on at school. She said she hadn't noticed anything but she would talk with him and see if he would tell her anything. After lunch she had a chance to talk to him and he told her that she was pushing him to hard, that is why he was saying he didn't like himself and didn't want to go to school. So they worked out a new plan and then he decide that his stomach hurt and he needed to go home.

On Saturday my mom took the boys and I swimming at the community center in Mandan. The boys all had a great time. The twins love going down the slide, they were even able to hold their breath and go under water. They were also able to lay on their backs and kick their feet (with the help of life jackets). Layne swam all over without a life jacket. He loves going there because most of the pool he is able to stand up in and he loves going down the big slides.

Tim spent the weekend making deer sausage with his friends. They started on Friday night grinding the pork and venison and were up until 1:00 a.m. On Saturday they started at 9:00 a.m. and finished at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. There were so many people in and out of the garage all weekend. At one point there were like 12 men in the garage knee deep in venison. I took all the boys out in the evening to "hang out" with the boys, the were quite a hit. One of Tim's friends told him he was that while it is fun to be able to got out hunting anytime and go to the bars, he was jealous that Tim had a family to come home to. I think that made Tim feel pretty good and he really needed to hear that. It was really nice to see all these guys, some of them I hadn't seen since I was pregnant with Layne!

I started feeling sick on Friday (sore throat and cough) and this morning when I woke up I didn't feel well at all, so since Tim was up so late we didn't go to church. We haven't really done much today. I did manage to do a couple loads of laundry and Tim is out in the garage finishing packing the sausage. They ended up with 300 pounds to divide between Tim and Justin. Our half then gets divided in to thirds, us, Scott and Debbie, and Mandy and Ryan. It will be early to bed for all of us!!

It was a beautiful day today. The boys and I went to bible study and didn't freeze to death. After bible study my friend Becky came over and watched the boys while I went to the grocery store, and then I watched her kids while she went to the store. It was so nice to go to the store with out kids!!

Tim and I went to bible study tonight at Pastor and Pam Thompson's house. Their oldest son Andrew came down and watched the twins and Layne came with and played with their son Owen who is the same age. It was a wonderful bible study and it was nice to do it with Tim.

Tomorrow I have to go to Wal-Mart and finish grocery shopping. Unfortunately I think it is going to be colder than today.

So I decided to go to the lake over the weekend since Tim was going to be gone and Layne didn't have school on Monday. Scott went with me. The roads on the way there weren't too bad, blowing snow and lots of fog. We had a great time, it was nice enough to play outside. We even got to walk on the frozen lake. The drive home was not so nice. The roads were icy and lots of blowing snow, we drove between 30- 50 mph. It took us 6 1/2 hours to get home.

Dropped my cell phone in the snow so we went to go get a new one last night. They were not able to transfer my numbers so I lost everyones numbers. So If you all get a chance sent me a message with your number!!

I am so glad today is almost over. I went up stairs to get the boys from their nap (they were both in their room, too cold in ours). They were crying by the time I got up there and when I opened the door I wanted to turn around and run!! They were covered in poop, hands, blankets, beds. Brenden was crying hysterical because he wanted his blanket and he kept saying, "yucky, yucky". It took me 45 minutes to get them and their room clean. After I was done I sent the boys downstairs to play with Layne. I was about to sit down and turn on the TV when I heard Chloe throwing up. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! I couldn't make-up this stuff. So I had Layne take Chloe outside, and I cleaned up the puke. Then I had to clean up the popcorn mess in the kitchen (Layne thought I took to long to get him a snack so he decide to make his own) because the boys decide to help themselves to Layne's popcorn. Get done with all that and it was time to make dinner. I picked this night of all nights to make a big turkey dinner!!

Tim and Debbie are going to the farm this weekend, so please pray for me. This will be the first weekend alone with all 3 kids and after today I am not sure I will make.

Well we had a nice weekend. On Saturday Tim and I spent the morning moving stuff around in the boys' room. We finally figure out a way to separate the room so Layne can sleep in his own bed, now we just have to come up with the money to do it!! On Saturday afternoon my mom and I went to Hobby Lobby to check out their Christmas stuff. They had it on clearance 80% off. Mom bought me some pointsetta garland to go on my stair case railing. It is really nice and was only $2. I picked up some craft stuff for Layne for $.01 each, just little wooden letters. He loves to glue that kind of stuff to paper.

We went to church this morning. It was nice to go, we haven't been there in quite a while. After church we went to Cracker Barrel with Scott and Debbie, and then ran a bunch of errands. It was nice outside when we got home so Tim decide to scrape the ice off the driveway. Layne and I went out to help him shovel up the ice chunks. The ice was 8" thick in some spots. It was so hard and packed down that we all got tired before we finished. But we did make a good dent. This week is not going to be nice. I just got home from a meeting at church and it was sleeting/snowing. It is supposed to turn into a blizzard by morning. Low's this week of 30 below and wind chills of 50 below. The boys and I will be hunkered down for the week. I am going to make arrangements for Layne to be taken to school and brought home.

We are finally to the point were it only takes about 20 minutes to do Layne's homework. I actually enjoy doing it with him now (although he doesn't enjoy doing it) and it is so fun to read books with him.

We have nasty weather again. We cancelled our mom's bible study this morning because only 2 of us were going to be able to make it, so I probably won't be going anywhere until church on
Sunday. It's a wonder I haven't lost my mind yet. On the up side I got a lot done today. I cleaned out all the bathroom cabinets. Got rid of all the expired meds, sunscreens, and stuff. I also clean out some of the kitchen cabinets. Between yesterdays toy room and today's bathroom we have a full garbage can and the trash was picked up yesterday.

Wednesday, January 7, 2009

My mom came over this afternoon and helped me clean out Layne's toys downstairs. What a total mess. We took everything out from the storage under the stairs, cleaned out the tv cabinet, and clean all the way to the bottom of the toy box. We separated everyting out put it all in totes and threw away all the toys with broken or missing pieces (12 garbage bags FULL). So now we can actually find a toy when Layne wants it and close the lid to the toy box!!

Scott and Debbie came over for dinner tonight, so I put a chicken in the oven. It was still a little frozen, but I thought it would get done in time. Well no suck luch, I took it out after about 1 hour 45 minutes and it was not done, still pink, so Tim went and picked up Little Ceasers Pizza. Need less to say Layne was happy. Scott and Debbie stayed after dinner and Tim and I went out and ran some errands. It was nice to get out of the house, I haven't gone anywhere since Sunday.

Brenden has finally learn to kiss. It is so cute, he puts his hands on my checks and gives me a big wet kiss. He also learned how to blow kisses. He kisses his hand, blows on it, and then waves!

We were listening to music tonight after dinner and the boys were dancing. Layne was on the floor "break dancing" and the boys were copying everything they did. Quite funny!!

I have been using the wii fit almost everyday. I have unlocked all but about 5 of the games. Tim and I go back and forth with the high score in yoga (I didn't know he liked yoga, but he says the same thing I do, it feels good to stretch) but I kick butt on all the aerobics stuff. I Unlocked super hula hoops and can do 815 turns in 3 minutes!!

Layne went back to school today after the LONG Christmas break. He didn't really want to go this morning. I think I let him watch to many cartoons in his pj's. Despite his reluctance he said he had a good day and was glad to see his friends again.

Saturday, January 3, 2009

O what a day. We just finished eating and put pj's on on the boys, Layne was being silly and pulled down he pj's and was running around in his under pants with his pj's at his ankles. So of course Brenden and Logan do what ever their big brother does. Tim yells at them to pull their pants up and no big surprise they don't listen. So Tim drops his pants and says "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" I am still laughing and have tears rolling down my face.

We had a great day today. This morning we went to the Heritage Center with our neighbors Breann and Levi, then this afternoon my mom and I took Layne to the science museum and Creative Clay (you pick a piece of pottery and paint it, they glaze it and fire it for you and you pick it up in a week). It was a lot of fun and good for me to get out of the house. We were going to take all the kids swimming but decide it was too cold with wind chills at 30 below. The twins still aren't feeling great and are still a little crabby. I think we are going to skip church tomorrow, Logan is still coughing and gaging a lot and with Scott and Debbie gone it's only the two of us to distract them, and that is not enough!!
